August has arrived, and with it no end to the summer heat and sunshine! July and August are the two hottest months of the year, and as we can witness this July was no different. With the summer sunshine brings beautiful long days, and a range of evening activities that can be enjoyed around town, and what can be better or more refreshing than a delicious crisp cider to cool you down.

In August there are two exciting Silent Disco events coming up, co-hosted by Timeout London and Mortimer’s Orchard Cider. Tickets are only £29 and there will be three levels of disco fun, three DJ’s, a photobooth, prizes, and everyone gets one free Mortimer’s Orchard Cider; what could be better! If you have never been to a silent disco before, take a moment (or two!) to remove your headphones and take in the bizarre sight of hundreds of people dancing away to a silent tune, it can be quite a surreal feeling!

The first of these events will be held this Friday 3rd in the Cutty Sark, Greenwich. If you have never visited the Cutty Sark this is your chance to soak up some history while enjoying your Friday night. The Cutty Sark is a British Clipper Ship which was built in 1869, and was one of the last, and fastest, tea clipper ships to be built. It is now a Grade 1 listed building and part of the National Historic Fleet; how many people can say they have been to a disco in a location as unique as this?!

If you can’t make it this weekend, clear your calendar for the 10th of August, where this event will be held at none other than Sea Life London Aquarium! Everyone secretly loves a visit to the Aquarium, now you can do it cider in hand and headphones on, and dance your way through the exhibits. Best of all as this is a silent disco, there will be no loud music to disturb the animals!
